Farassan GRP pipe technology process represents the most advanced technology in use, and is the foremost method of manufacturing glass reinforced plastic pipe. Farassan’s pipe is manufactured with a proven process, "continuous filament winding" method, using glass fiber reinforcements, thermosetting polyester resins and a silica sand filler as the basic raw materials, forming a dense composite laminate.

Farassan Manufacturing and Industrial Company began manufacturing Glass- Reinforced  Polyester (GRP) pipe in 1986. Under license from flowtite technology. Since year 2006 pipes Farassan pipes are marketed using FARATEC brand name.Although the world’s infrastructure has been developed a lot during the past decades, still thousands of kilometers of water and sewer pipes needs rehabilitation .This dilemma is a worldwide problem. And where an aging infrastructure is not a problem, it is generally because there is no infrastructure – it remains to be constructed in many developing countries.However, these nation, are faced with difficult decisions how to build and what materials to used in also to avoid what’s happened in the developed countries. Who’s the culprit? For the most part, corrosion is responsible for this problem.
